EARLY WARNING SIGNS OF CHILDREN'S MENTAL HEALTH DISORDERS
This on-line course provides an overview of common children's mental health disorders, along with suggestions for interventions that can be used in classroom settings. The completion of this course meets the continuing education requirement put forth by the Minnesota State Legislature pertaining to re-licensure of educators.
The course is organized in a "read and respond" format. After you read a few pages of information
about a childhood mental health concept or disorder, you will check your understanding. When you respond to a
section quiz with 100% accuracy, you may move to the next section. If you are unsure of an answer you are able to
refer to the information that you have just read for help. The course will take approximately 2-3 hours to
complete.
The content of this course has been derived from The Educator's Guide to Children's Mental
Health published by the Minnesota Association for Children's Mental Health.
